Brownson Youth seek to live as Christ’s disciples through our ministry, mission, and fellowship with one another, with our church and with our community.
Youth Group
Brownson has a vibrant and growing youth group that meets on Sunday nights between Labor Day and Memorial Day. We come together at 5pm in the youth suite for games, a meal, and a Bible lesson and finish up at 7pm. It is our goal that youth feel connected, accepted and challenged to grow their faith. We also want them to have fun and experience the joy of Christ through fellowship! Throughout the year the youth engage in a variety of activities that connect them with the greater church and the community like Trunk or Treat, caroling for homebound church members, and participating in local food drives. We also do events like escape rooms, scavenger hunts, minute to win it competitions, Christians vs Romans, a ski trip, bowling and much more. In the summer, youth have opportunities to travel and grow by participating in a mission’s trip as well as retreats to Massanetta Springs (middle school) or Montreat (high school).
Brownson Connects
All youth meet in the youth suite for Sunday School (after Higher Grounds) where they are challenged to grow their faith through interactive Bible lessons and life application. This is a time to connect with adult youth leaders and peers in an environment that encourages growth, exploration and examining of our faith.
We seek to follow His path through five intentions:
- To call young people to be disciples of Jesus Christ.
- To respond to the needs and interests of young people.
- To work together, youth and adults, in partnership.
- To be connected to the whole church, community, and the world.
- To include all young people, reaching out and inviting them to belong to the community of faith.
