Brownson Youth

Youth Color War

Youth Group
Brownson has a vibrant and growing youth group. We meet on Sunday nights, September through May. Before Youth Group, those interested in Worship Praise Music and would like to join the fun, come to Fellowship Hall at 5:00 PM on Sundays to participate. We come together for dinner at 5:30 PM and then break into Middle and Senior High School groups. Each year, the middle school youth participate in a Mission Trip as well as a Youth Retreat at Massanetta Springs in Virginia. The high school youth also embark on a Summer Mission Trip and a week at the Montreat Youth Conference.

Throughout the year, the youth visit shut-ins, host Trunk or Treat and singing Christmas carols in Southern Pines.

The youth seek to live as Christ's disciples through our ministry, mission and fellowship with one another, with our church, and with our community.  As part of the Presbyterian Youth Connection it is our mission that "As youth and adults, we respond to God's call through the Holy Spirit to be connected to each other, the church, and the world so that our lives proclaim with joy that Jesus Christ is Lord!"

Sunday School
Faith Seeking Understanding (Youth Suite) adults and high school students are invited to this intergenerational gathering for basics in theology and the Christian life. Led by Rachel Cheney, youth@brownsonchurch.org.

Middle School Youth meet in the Youth Suite for Sunday School where they are challenged to grow their faith through interactive Bible stories and lessons that apply to their lives through a program called Re:form.

Fellowship
High School Youth are invited to this small group for devotions and prayer before school on Thursday morning @ 7:45 AM at Chick-Fil-A. Contact Rachel if your student needs a ride: youth@brownsonchurch.org.

We seek to follow His path through five intentions:

  • To call young people to be disciples of Jesus Christ.
  • To respond to the needs and interests of young people.
  • To work together, youth and adults, in partnership.
  • To be connected to the whole church, community and the world.
  • To include all young people, reaching out and inviting them to belong to the community of faith.

We hope you will join us!
