April 15, 1935 - Reverend Ernest L. Barber conducted the first Southern Pines Presbyterian Church service, which was held in the Civic Building in Southern Pines.
June 28, 1936 - The church name was changed by vote of the congregation to Brownson Memorial Presbyterian Church, in honor of Dr. Marcus Brownson.
June 23, 1937 - The official ground breaking was held for the original Sanctuary.
June 10, 1938 - The first worship service was held in the original Sanctuary.
1951-1955 - The Education Building was constructed.
November 5, 1978 - Fellowship Hall was completed, and the dedication service was held.
March 3, 1996 - Fellowship Hall was used for Sunday worship. Building Committee begins work on plans for a new Sanctuary.
May 2, 1999 - First Sunday services in new (second) Sanctuary.
May 23, 1999 - Dedication of the new Sanctuary (shown in photo to left).
May, 2010 - The Cornerstone Building was completed, and church offices were relocated.
July 11, 2010 - Cornerstone Building Open House was held.
September 22, 2010 - Conference Center renovation completed.
November 14, 2010 - Dedication of Cornerstone Building and Conference Center renovation.
May 15, 2011 - Brownson's 75th Anniversary Celebration
