Volunteer Opportunities

It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.” (Ephesians 4:11-13)

There is greater satisfaction and a deeper fulfillment to your life that comes when you realize that we were created to serve.  For we were created to be like Christ, and it was he who made it clear in Matthew 20:28, “Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve.”

The question:  How can Brownson ask the members do any more than they are already doing?  People are overbooked, over-stimulated, and overwhelmed, and yet we want to add one more thing to their plate?

The simple truth:  When we plug ourselves into a ministry suited to our personality and God-given gifts, where we are serving others and giving back to God, ultimately we always get back more than we ever gave.

As Brownson Church grows and expands, so will all the ministries that meet the needs of this body.  We call to you:  “Come and join us!”  You have unique God-given gifts; let us use them, and you will be blessed.  We will work together to find the perfect fit for you, even if it means creating something new and exciting!

Volunteers are coordinated by the Session’s Membership Division.

In order to help you get an idea of areas in the church that utilize volunteers, a copy of the Volunteer Areas survey is below.  Take the survey yourself, and then take the initiative to jump start your serving (and blessings).

Please contact the church office to have a Membership Division person discuss with you the volunteer opportunities at Brownson.
