Our Music and Worship Arts Ministries use a variety of music styles from classical masterpieces to gospel, folk, and contemporary compositions, as well as drama, and dance. Highlights include special concerts and glorious expressions of faith during Christmas and Easter. Past works include Mendelssohn’s Elijah, Vivaldi’s Gloria, Faure’s Requiem, Handel’s Messiah, Godspell, and Dubois’ The Seven Last Words of Christ.
Join in the adventure of music and worship leadership through Brownson’s varied choirs which foster and encourage a musical response of faith and praise:
- Chancel Choir
The Chancel Choir participates in both services Advent - Christmas and Lent through Easter as well as other special services such as Pentecost and All Saints. Rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings at 7:15 PM in the choir room from September to June. We take time off during the summer, although a Summer Choir gathers to rehearse an hour before our 11:10 AM service. New singers of all levels of experience are always welcome!
- Instrumentalists
Various instruments are used to accompany the hymns, choruses, choral anthems, and solos throughout the year. Let us know if you would like to play.
- Hand Bell Choir
Brownson has a complete five-octave set of Schulmerich Hand Bells and Tone Chimes. The hand bell choir performs several times throughout the year.
